“But everyone knows this, so why bother telling them?”
When I was a yoga teacher, I had so many ideas for content I wanted to put out into the world.
I was reading, reflecting on and absorbing so much personal development literature, getting so many insights from my own life and seeing inspiration everywhere. My mind was alive with ideas.
But so often, I’d start to write then and I’d stop. Convinced that there was no point because it was so obvious, or had been said so many times before. What new ideas could I add?
Oh past me 🤦♀️ I wish I could go back and have a word with her!
Because while it’s true that much of it was “obvious”, that doesn’t mean people had thought about it.
It may have been said before, but it had never been said by me, with my experience and journey to the understanding, my unique takes on the idea.
Maybe there aren’t many new ideas in the world now. But no one connects ideas the same way you do. No one’s path to that insight is the same as yours. So your thoughts DO hold value and someone out there needs to read them.
So if you’ve got an idea but you think it’s pointless to share it, write it and share it anyway. You never know who might need to see it in that exact moment.
